OUR FISHING BLOG

Winter fishing blues

An early morning start resulted in half a dozen fish caught harling on a gold ginger mick for a trio from Whangarei. The fish were porposing for the first hour or so and we had some great fun getting a strike every pass. The river fishing has hardend up somewhat, the great fishing we had a couple of weeks ago has certainly abated. Maybe some rain will bring some new fish in the system. You hear about the odd angler doing well but it is certainly a isolated occurance. Mathew and Alease tried for half a day, Mathew loosing a nice fish but that was it for our mornings work. As for me and Briggs I have just returned from dropping Briggs off at the Kennels and Lisa and I are away to Vietnam for a month riding elephants and stuff so there will be no more reports for at least 5 weeks. We will be checking emails tho so if you would like to book a trip we can still organise that. Tight lines
