The winter spawning runs have well and truly started with some excellent fishing .Reports of plenty of good conditiond silver bullets around the 3 to 4 lbmark and a fish weighed just under the magic 10lb. All the spawning tribs are fishing well so get your gear out and get into it. Glo bugs in the lower reaches and naturals  higher as a rule. Above is Stu from Canada who was wrapped to land nice rainbow in not ideal conditions, coloured water as you can see and Nick the local golf pro from Taupo golf club. Nick had never fished before and had no expectations of catching anything. Not sure who got the biggest fright when the line came tight and started screaming down stream. Nick thought he had a rock at first !
