Summer is just around the corner right ? Yesterday shorts and T shirt and today thermals and jacket ! Lets hope we get some settled weather for summer and some hard fast action on the cicadas. November heralds the start of the dry fly season with evening hatches. If you are lucky enough to be on the rivers at dusk you should see some rising fish. A klinkhammer , parachute adams or the like should produce a take. 6wgt rods are the way to go.The Hini opens on the 1st Dec and should produce some good action for the rainbows. Very few browns enter this river, in fact I have only ever caught 2 in the hundreds of fish I have caught in the Hini. The lake has been fishing well with some nice condition rainbows , bright orange flesh making some good eating. Smoked trout for Xmas ...Yum.
