OUR FISHING BLOG

big Phil

Phil with his first rainbow on a dry.He spotted this fish behind a rock feeding on the surface and Phil being Phil decided to throw his large terrestrial dry at it, I,m not sure who got more of a surprise when the fish lept on the fly and charged of accross the other side of the pool.Needless to say Phil was pretty chuffed with himself. The day was one of those perfect late summer days,no wind to speak of and temperature in the mid 20s. We caught a few fish, lost a few and broke off a cracking good rainbow by the time the day was done. The adventure was'nt over yet as we had the quad bike ride out and I think the x games would have put us in the feature slot if they could have seen us.We did make it back in one piece to tell the tail and have a few laughs.Next time try sitting a little further forward Phil.

What an adventure!! Great quad bike ride in. I think I had the longest drive off the highest tee box in NZ straight down into a huge tree clad ravine. Great fishing - I like this dry fly stuff!! Magnificent sunny day and lovely surroundings well worth the bumpy ride in. Oh, and by the way Evil Kinevel, if I had have been sitting any further forward on the 'trick-quad-bike' you might have had reason to questioned my sexual orientation. Fantastic day full of fun and excitement - thanks Brett.
